You Should Write

You friend
You stranger
Live long
Stay free
Of danger
You friend
You lazy loaf of bread
Don’t you know
That soon we will be dead
And you should be writing instead
Or maybe that’s just me
Others will tell you to smell the flowers
But I wonder
Do you want a fragrance or superpowers
Because odors are odors
And words can form magic
And life is terrible
Well just the part that’s tragic
What I mean
Is that you are reading this
And I wonder
At my own “continuing on in this world” without children
And alone with sensitivities
Do you see my activities
And want them to be your activities?
